Finally finally after brewing up a rough draft of an idea, the three of us sat down together multiple times (only two) to actually jot down details and further delve into the developing of our idea. The idea for our final film opening task is the same as that of our preliminary task.

The first thing we actually decided on was the location of our opening sequence. The mise en scene was immensely important for all three of us hence it was mutually decided it had to be top-notch. Consequently, we chose Androon Lahore (Walled City of Lahore) to be the exact place checking all the marks with its insane visuals and old, vintage architecture. After finalising the location we had to mould our idea around it as we obviously did not want the location and idea to be incoherent. Here's us planning:

Moving forward, we decided on our main character to be a female of around our age (no surprise) as we had to act ourselves and didn't have the time (or resources) to get another person to act for us. Disclosure: no friend would have agreed either. Though our character had been finalised, no yet finalisation happened of which of us three will actually have to act. It would be decided based on whoever most matches the aesthetic that particular day.

After the character and location was finalised, the story-line was further developed into an abstract like thought process. We tried making it open to interpretation and something that people like us could easily relate to as concepts like these tend to grasp attention more and everyone can find aspects that are relative to them. To make it abstract, we had the opening scene depicting a dream (something that is very interpretative). As relatable things aren't either black or white, but instead grey, we decided to incorporate shots that show both sides of the dream (good and bad). This would make it as close to reality as possible. After deciding on the dreamscape idea, we had another obstacle to tackle, which was making the opening sequence dramatic. After hearing the word dramatic, it was agreed among us that we had to end it with a bang. With something that leaves our audience wanting to know more. A cliffhanger of sorts. The best way to make a sequence about a dream end with a bang was by having our character wake up into reality.

Furthermore, when all the major stuff was decided, just a bit finessing was required now.

Major Stuff:

After the jotting down of this, the three of us kept going through our idea to perhaps find some loopholes or unrealistic things of sorts. After making sure everything was put together and the elements were complimenting each other well, that was it. The Idea Development of our final film opening was (FINALLY) done. This was easy though as it was the same major idea of our preliminary but making it better and better was surely a task, especially when meeting each other and sitting down to think was let's say, nothing less of a challenge. But anyways, IT'S DONE NOW!
